Wednesday

Another busy week...today is Hawaiian Day at my work...it's a zoo over here! Grass skirts are just as scratchy as you would imagine...& tricky to smoke a cigarette in...althought the thought of me running while being a huge fireball amuses the heck out of me!! Veasey (one of the boys) let us make him a pig for the pig roast...apple in his mouth & all...it was completely hysterical!!!

Brandon is going to his friend Josh's house after school today to play & is so excited about it! Katelyn appears to be getting sick...not something any of us wants...it's going to be a beautiful weekend & we're hoping she's just got allergies (like Uncle Bruce & Grandmom) & won't get sick.

Barry is still loving DHY & still cranking out home improvements like it's his job. He's got 2 coats of paint up in the bathroom in the basement...looks like it's going to need another 1 or 2...red is a pain in the rear!! But, it's gorgeous & will just be completely beautiful when we're finally done with it.

I'm going back to the dentist tomorrow...we'll see how that goes...I just want a beautiful smile! Hoping the kids have their Daddy's teeth!! So far, they both have gorgeous little smiles...just like Daddy!!

Sanjaya better be getting the boot tonight on Idol...the kid can't sing!!!! Have a great day!!

this one's for my sister...

Ok, so last night, my beloved Trish informed me that she's been checking in daily & ther have been no blogs since Tuesday...& I needed to get busy...so...this one's for you Trish Ann! :) I got so lucky in the in-laws department...got 2 great parents who have always made me feel like I was a part of the family...even when I was just the girlfriend...& they try WAY harder than my own parents to be involved with our family...I'll never be able to express to them how much it means to me that my children have an amazing set of grandparents...it's so what they deserve!!!! & I got 3 amazing brothers who would do anything for us in the world...& 2 new sisters...who are just as much fun as the sisters I've known since I was born...& I can talk to them about the fruitcake parents I've got & they don't try to defend them...they just listen! So...I WIN in the in-laws department...just thought I'd let you all know!

Last week was yucky at work...Friday was amazing though...just a really long day...but I had this SUPERB coffee in the morning so my day started great! It was the best end to a long week at work a girl could ask for! The Thompson fam was in bed early Friday night...we were beat!

Saturday, I was still reeling from 3 nights of less than 3 hours of sleep...so when Kate went down for a nap- so did Mommy! Brandon is just the sweetest boy in the world...he'll watch Nickelodeon in his room until Kate starts waking up & come wake me...I really needed that! Saturday nite, Barry & I dropped the kids off at Red & Steve's house & went to the Depot by ourselves for a few hours!

We got paint for the bar & the bathroom in the bar...Mai Tai & Dark Secret...sound like perfect paint names for a fabulous bar!! They're red & black to the rest of the world...they ROCK!!! I absolutely love them! We picked up some lamps for the living room & disagreed over flooring...I do think we're going to take Red's advice & do linoleum in there...easy to clean!!

Yesterday...Mommy & Daddy were up early & were like tornadoes in that house...Brandon's room got cleaned from top to bottom...it's gorgeous & I've threatened to throw out the next toy on the floor! We finally dug out the box of pics from the move...yes, you read that right...& we've hung up a few! Moved junk out of the basement...threw most of it out...haven't used it since we moved in...so, we don't really need it! Found all of the fun barware we were given at our shower...finally a room to use it all in...I can hardly wait!

So, Spring Cleaning at the Thompson house is well under way...& it's going to make life BEAUTIFUL! We're really getting things done much faster than we thought...it's coming together so great...can't wait until you all see how much we've gotten done! & until we can have the first drinks in the Lounge at Club Thompson!

Have a great week!
xoxoxo

Hope you feel all up to date Trish...! :) Love you to pieces!!!

having one of those days...

all I can say about today is...THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!

just another manic Monday...

Ok, so I'm at lunch...the first free moment of my entire day...I've got a feeling it's going to be one of those weeks. The weekend was lovely & relaxing...so relaxing we didn't eat dinner until after 8 last night!! But...it was super yummy & Brandon ate green beans so it was INCREDIBLE!

Of course I had to promise him more cake tonight (it was too late for cake when we were done) after dinner to get him to eat them...but 1/2 way throught the 15 whole green beans on his plate...he stopped making ugly faces! Kate in the mean time ate 2 helpings! :) But...she didn't eat anything from her cake we baked (that we ate instead of lunch) except for the icing! Brandon ate his helping & hers...it seems that he takes after me & Grandmom in the sweets department...the 3 of us could do some serious damage in a bakery!!

Barry only made 3 trips to the Home Depot this weekend...but now he's mastered plumbing to add to his ever growing list of amazing things the man can do!! How on Earth did I get so lucky?? He's Bob Vila, Jesse James, Norm Abrahms & Ty Pennington all in one phenomenal man! Thank you Mom & Dad T. for creating near perfection!!

Ok...lunch is over...have a good one!!!

Brandon's very first blog...

Brandon is standing next to me & wants to share a story with our lovely blog friends...HERE GOES!!!!

You should all know...he's now standing next to me crying...the pressure to talk about anything you want to people you love must be awful...this kid amazes me!!!

I had a chocolate donut this morning for breakfast before Daddy was awake...he's still sleeping right now!

Now, I want to tell you about my day off with Pop Pop...first I played with Kate Kate, then Pop Pop & I took her to daycare (she's too little to play with us all day), then we worked on cars for a while. Then we got another car to fix & Pop Pop needed parts so the guy from the parts store came & brought us the parts to fix the car. Pop Pop walked outside & got the parts then worked on this car for a long time. Then Pop Pop made me a grilled cheese sandwich & we took the car back to the lady it belonged to.

Then we got Pop Pop's truck & we went to Burger King (we ALWAYS go there...it's our favorite place) sometimes my friend A.J. from school is there with his Pop too. My Happy Meal toy is cool, it's a spinning top that shoots off of a flame. I did do some work on my dune buggy (it's a Spiderman Lego toy he got for Christmas...that's a little tricky for him to figure out just yet!) Then we went to Pop Pop's house & watched Sponge Bob until we had to go get Katie. Then we came home & my Mom was there.

She made dinner for us when she was trying to get ready to go out with Aunt Red, she didn't pay attention & burned our pizza!! But she looked pretty when she went out...then she slipped & fell in the snow. That is really funny! I watched Scooby Doo at 8:30, it was really, really good & funny.

Thanks for reading...Love, Brandon

(he typed his name all by himself!)

Sunday...bloody Sunday

Where to begin?? Friday night was a night to remember for the rest of my life!! LOL! I wasn't allowed to drive myself...yes, you read that correctly...I wasn't allowed...there really are moments when Barry thinks he's my dad! But I always listen to Barry & rarely listened to my Dad...that's another BLOG in & of itself!:) Red came & picked me up...upon arriving out front, she informed me that we were in fact insane...the roads were awful! We were out though & feeling the freedom from the whining & the , "Mommy" all nite...so off we went...at about 15 mph. to the Swedes!

Of course there was no parking out back...they must have been renting out the lot to someone because there were hardly any people inside either...so we had to park across the street...treck through the ice & snow to get to the sidewalk which was of course a sheet of ice itself...(the weather people weren't lying when they said it was treacherous out there!) ...we ran across the street shrieking at the rapidly approaching snow plow...I think it was mostly getting dirty or wet we feared, not being crushed...ventured through the 3 feet of what had been on the road but had now been plowed to where we needed to walk, we shimmy up the icy front steps of my beloved Swedes & I open the door...relieved that we're here in one piece & not soaked or wounded! I step in to my home away from home with great relief & anticipate the perfect meal I'm about to endulge in...& I FALL FLAT ON MY ASS...with the door to the bar wide open!!!

No broken nails, no broken bones...today I feel like I've been lifting weights to get all buff for a week straight...but other than that...I did good! Only about 10 people saw...2 of whom were the rude asses trying to get Red & I to move that were coming in behind us...you know how I get when a person falls...!!!??? I was laughing so hard I REALLY thought this is going to be the time I piss myself laughing...I could have blamed that on using my ass to mop up the floor of the Swedes!!! It was HYSTERICAL...the only thing hurt was my pride...& lets be honest...I'm not one who's afraid to laugh at herself! So I sat there on the floor laughing until I couldn't breathe! That was the beginning of one of the best nights I've had in ages! It started with a bang! GOOD TIMES!!!!

Saturdays have changed at the Thompson house...Barry works until 4 now...so I got to listen to Kate for an extra 2 hours question why Daddy went to work today! She is one little girl who absolutely adores her Daddy! Brandon got his teddy bear stuck on the ceiling fan in our room & managed to entirely rip the sheets off of the bed..."just by watching cartoons all day" if he weren't so adorable I'd beat him for telling lies to me! He (like me) is a child who finds the magic in jumping on the bed...he'll learn...hopefull not how I did...that it's a dangerous sport...Bed Jumping!

Mooshie came over for dinner (she didn't eat the lovely pulled pork I slaved over...she ate some broiled chicken...GOD BLESS HER!) & a t.v. marathon & she left when the wind started howling & the snow was squalling! The weather got nasty again last nite...she's a girl who learned from the multiple times her amazingly incredible Daddy told us the weather was too bad for us to go out in! She got her buns home & in bed...we were exhausted!

Meanwhile, my partner in crime (Red) & I spent quite a good amount of time Friday night giggling over being so adventurous in our old age...& how it was good to be able to get out on a yucky weather night if we felt like it...her beautiful Mommy wouldn't let us go anywhere in weather remotely close to the storm we had Friday night!

It was a great testament to the multitude of years I've known my best friends...I know I can count on my girl Red to try anything once with me..to push the envelope with me...to be the Thelma to my Louise! & no one will ever ask her, "where you been?" when she's with me! & Moosh...she's the girl who thinks things through, the one who could always remind Red & I that MAYBE it wasn't such a brilliant idea to drive to New Brunswick when we were supposed to be in Woodbury...but I adore that I can talk her into most things...because I am a lifer with my friends & if we go down...it's best for us to all go down TOGETHER!!...or at least in each other's presence! ;) Cheers to my clumsiness...& my best girls!!!

St. Patty's Day...

Well...the rest of the Thompson family is in their St. Patty's gear today...this is what Barry's wearing...so cute!!!!

Busy day today...lots to do...the drinks tonight are going to be greatly enjoyed...as is the fabulous music of my sweet Laura Cheadle...& the even better company of my very best girls in the universe! What a hectic week!!! I'm so glad it's over!

Top of the morning to you all...as my beloved Pop Dugan used to say...,"If you're lucky enough to be Irish...then you're lucky enough!" Hope St. Patrick chases all of the snakes away for you all...mine are completely gone! Now I just need to go Leprechaun hunting with Brandon & Katelyn (you'd be amazed at how quiet children can be if you tell them they're hunting little green men with LOTS & LOTS of money & magical powers!) & end up shaking the little guy until he coughs up the gold! :) Wear some green & dance a jig...you'd be stunned at how much fun it can be to act completely silly in the name of entertaining your children...& laughing with them...& hearing those little laughs right back...makes you feel like you ended up catching a Leprechaun!!!

When Irish eyes are smiling...you all know the rest...xoxoxo!

perfect weather today...BUT SNOW FOR THE WEEKEND???

Well...Barry's first day at DHY was a huge success!!! He was so excited by all of the new gadgets he gets to play with...although he has to wear a helmet if he's moving any quads or motorcycles even just a few feet...which doesn't make his hair happy at all! :) Aside from thinking thats geeky...he loved it! Packed his lunch but brought it home because they get a great discount from The Meat Stop...he might just be in HEAVEN! So, I'm having yesterday's turkey & cheese sandwich for lunch today!

Brandon loves the blog...wants to write an entry for me to share with all of you this weekend! :) He was gorgeous in his St. Patrick's Day t-shirt this morning! School is closed tomorrow (the poor kid has it rough...will have to spend the entire day with his all time favorite human POP POP!) so they're celebrating today! He was so excited! He loves a party...must be genetic!

Kate is her usual precocious self...ate almost an entire can of corn for dinner last night...that's also genetic- it comes from her Great Grandpop Thompson! No meal is complete without 5 veggies in his world!

Katie wanted us to know that she YUVS Ganmom (that's how she says it!) Thompson- wouldn't stop talking about Grandmom coming to school...it didn't happen yesterday (she does get lucky & Grandmom gets her every now & then) but she insisted that it did. Brandon wants to argue the facts with her (maybe he'll be a lawyer...who farms for fun) but Barry & I just agree with her...it's much easier! LOL!! Her stubbornness...it's all me! :)

As for me...looking forward to a fabulous Friday night out with my girls. Heading to the Swedes to enjoy a little Laura Cheadle with Mooshie & Red!

I'm not looking forward to the stinky weather that's supposedly coming our way...I've got flowers popping up in my garden...which prompted Barry to send his very first text message ever in life...TO ME! He took a picture of the one beautiful little purple flower & sent it to me in a message...I called him to tell him how cute it was that he finally figured out how to send a text message after years of listening to me text at all hours of the day & night! He laughed his beautiful, full on hysterical laugh (like the one he had when I told him Brandon would be coming in 9 months!) & said,"Now you can't say I don't send you flowers at work!" I laughed so hard at his sense of humor that it made me cry...this is the man I love...I'm so lucky to have him!!!

blog...

Well...here it is, my very first blog! At least my first official one! This is going to be the space to keep everyone up to date on the stuff going down at Club Thompson (our house...for those that don't know we nickname everything!)

Today, Barry started his new adventures at DHY...hoping things go beautifully for him, & that he can feel Tom being proud of him for all he's accomplished! I know we're just as proud of him as we could possibly be. He seemed a little nervous but was dressed adorably in his "back-to-school" clothes! He is the only mechanic I know who needs $250 worth of new clothes to start work & new $80 Nikes...but he looked "HAMSUMP" ...Katie's attempt at handsome this morning! I'm hoping that he comes home loving his work. It always made me happy that he had a job he loved...then he started not loving it & had the anguish of having a job he could come home & complain about. I don't want that for him...I want him to wake up loving the fact that he gets to go do something he loves daily...he deserves it!

Brandon is loving the warm weather & Katelyn is loving her new LIGHT UP Disney Princess sneakers! Yes, I gave in to her...& she's just as happy as a 2 1/2 year old can be that when she walks little red lights follow her. Joanne Maugeri was right...if it's blinky shoes that make a child happy...BUY THEM! :) She's been skipping around the house singing about her Princesses & her lights since Sunday...so, THANKS, Ethel for the great advice!

For those who have never read something I've written...I over use adjectives at all times...fabulous & perfect & phenomenal are favorites of mine! Oh...& an exclamation point is just how I end almost all sentences...get used to it if you plan on checking back regularly, it's just me!
